Tamborine Mountain in the South East region of Queensland Australia is the gateway to what’s known as the Scenic Rim. This very popular area was formed over 25 million years ago by huge volcanic eruptions. With rich soils and high altitudes, these mountains have evolved into the most beautiful subtropical rainforests with lush vegetation and animal life. It’s one of the most beautiful places in an area full of beauty.
The viewpoint of the painting is from the western side of the mountain. After getting started, I saw a kookaburra, a native Australian bird, leave his branch at the top of a tree and soar down into the valley below. I couldn’t help but wonder how magnificent that would be. I decided to change the viewpoint of the painting to include the kookaburras and their perspective of the valley.
